Benefits of Antlers
Antler chews are natural, healthy, odor-free and long-lasting, keeping your dog busy and their teeth clean!
Antler Guyz provide elk antler. Elk antlers are less dense than deer antlers due to the outer bone to core marrow ratio being much lower. In other words, more marrow, less outer bone although, there are some elk that have very thick outer rings for more aggressive chewers. Be assured that our North American antler is the best grade A quality.
Antlers are much less likely to chip or splinter when they are being chewed versus processed bones. The chewing action grinds the antler chew down slowly. Use caution with aggressive chewers. One of the best ways to select the perfect antler for your dog is to always look at the cut end of the antler (see photo below) and the white ring specifically that surrounds the marrow middle. So, the thicker the white ring (which is all calcium) around the marrow, the stronger and more challenging of an antler chew. Perfect for the strong chewer however, it would be too challenging for an older dog or a dog that is not a strong chewer. They would need a much thinner calcified ring. The beauty of antler is every piece is different and unique in its own way. There are no two pieces of antler that are the same!
This image shows a very thick white calcified ring which would result in a Strong Antler Suitable for a Large Strong Chewing Dog!
Antlers are excellent for cleaning your dog's teeth; one antler will make a dramatic difference in removing years of plaque & tartar build up! Antler is 100% natural and full of nutrition providing a healthy source of calcium and essential minerals. North American Antler is long lasting and, when the proper antler size and strength of antler is selected, it should last 4-6 weeks and, sometimes months! Antlers are also low calorie and are perfect for dogs with allergies or stomach sensitivities. Please use this chart when purchasing our antler:
Other Benefits and Information

Safe Chewing Hints
When giving your dog an antler or any hard dog chew, we recommend the following:
Supervise your dog. Be very careful giving hard chews (such as antlers) to aggressive chewers as it is possible they could break a tooth. Do not allow your dog to attempt to break the chew in half with his back teeth. Do not allow your dog to consume more than 1/2" to 1" per day. If you need to get the antler away from your dog and he doesn't know "drop it", you can trade him for a tasty treat such as a piece of meat or cheese or, one of our Antler Stix treats!
